The Eco-scale C10 may be used for removing limescale deposits from small heating and cooling circuits, and also for flushing both the primary side and the domestic water side of the stainless steel plate exchangers found in many combination boilers.
It is ideal for heating engineers who have power flushing pumps that cannot handle descaling chemicals, or who wish to use a separate, lighter pump for descaling domestic (potable) water heat exchangers only.
The domestic water side of these heat exchangers may be descaled with the heat exchanger remaining in the boiler casing, by connecting the C10 flow and return hoses into both the water inlet pipe and the flow pipe to the taps.
To flush the primary circuit, to remove sludge and iron oxide deposits, it is generally necessary to remove the heat exchanger from the boiler. Purpose made manifolds (pictured right) are available from Kamco to connect hoses onto heat exchangers which do not have threaded connections.
The Eco-scale C10 is compact, portable and stable and may be carried in one hand. The integral translucent plastic tank safely contains chemicals during descaling, and allows the strength of cleansing chemicals (with colour change pH indicators) to be visually monitored.
The pump body is completely contained within the tank, and the Eco-scale C10 is self priming with no seals to leak. The drive motor is mounted on the top of the tank, with a splash-proof switch and warning light to indicate when the unit is pumping.
These features combine to give maintenance-free operation over a long period of time and make descaling a safer operation.
Regular reversal of flow direction, using the reversible electric motor, can halve the time taken to descale and make the process even more effective.
