Method
of use:
• Dip
test strip into solution, in direction of arrow, for roughly
three seconds, so that all colour zones are immersed.
• Compare indicator zone (unprinted area) to colour scale and read off
printed pH value (by holding strip against light, if necessary).
For
reference:
pH
less than 2 = strongly acidic (the pH of Pepsi-Cola or
Ribena is 2.6!)
Distilled
water has a pH of 7
(tap water varies between ca. 6.8 and 7.2 and is generally slightly alkaline
in hard water areas)
pH
greater than 12 = strongly alkaline
Before
discharging descaling solution to waste, ensure that pH
value is at least 5, using NEUTRALISING
CRYSTALS to increase the pH value if necessary. |
