Legislation now requires that water services storage and pipework should be regularly sterilised in order to prevent bacterial contamination from becoming a problem, most notably evidenced by outbreaks of Legionnaires disease.
Chlorine is generally regarded as the most effective disinfectant in destroying bacteria and viruses in water systems, and KAMCHLOR TABS provide a safe easy to handle source of free chlorine, enabling accurate sterilising solutions to be made up by non-technical users.
KAMCHLOR TABS are in tablet form, to give a pre-measured dose and, once added to water, the effervescent tablets quickly dissolve. On a strength for strength basis, KAMCHLOR TABS possess greater biocidal properties than sodium hypochlorite or bleach solutions, whilst tests show that they are less corrosive to metals.
Kamco also supply test kits to check that the required level of 'free' chlorine is present, a neutralising agent to neutralise the chlorine solution before discharging, and Easicult dip slides to check for the presence of any bacterial contamination. These also indicate the continuing effectiveness of any biocide treatment and indicate if remedial cleaning or disinfection should be carried out.
